To do list inconsistent article creation

The todo list is refusing to create articles for some items, but is perfectly happy to create articles for other items. There seems to be no discernable pattern to this behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce

I have no idea how to reproduce the error - it is inconsistent

Hello! Can you please tell me which article templates it is having trouble creating? When you say it's inconsistent, do you mean that two TODO items with the same article template inconsistently create the related articles? Or just inconsistent between different article types (ie, one type of template always succeeds, but another fails)?   Also, are you experiencing this issue in your own world, or as a collaborator (ie, Co-Owner, Editor etc.) on someone else's world?

This is in my own world, and I have no collaborators - I'm the only one with editing rights.   The problem seems to be independent of article template. I made TODO items with building, organization, and general article templates and with all three templates there were some where the article was created and some where it wasn't .   I can't afford to rely on tools that don't work - this is my business - so in the end I gave up and re-entered all my data in ClickUp and I'm tracking progress there. I'm perfectly happy to test the feature and help sort out the problems with it, but I can't allow it to be mission critical in the meantime.   Let me know if you need me to do anything on my end or if you need more information, and thanks for the fast response :)

I was testing a few things, trying to replicate the error, and I think I may have figured it out:   If I

  • click on the new Todo button
  • type in a name
  • shift-enter (without selecting a template)
  • The item is created in TODO, but clicking on it does not create an article.   I'm guessing that on the items that don't create an article I either neglected to select the template type, or the site didn't register the template type that I selected for some reason. I had about 200 items to create and I was in a hurry, so it's entirely plausible that it was human error.

That makes sense. The template field is not required to create a TODO item, as the intent is to be able to use the feature for non-article task tracking. In the future, TODOs may get an upgrade allowing you to link either an existing article or a new article template to an existing TODO that doesn't have one defined.   If you are able to reproduce the issue again (after selecting a template for the TODO during creation), please let us know!

Will do, thanks (and sorry for the brain fart on my part)
