Memory House
Memory Houses: Preserving the Vocru Legacy
In accordance with Section V of the Burden of Rule, the Decohered minds of the Vocru were gathered and stored in Memory Houses. These structures were designed to preserve the wisdom and intelligence of the fallen Vocru, ensuring that their vast knowledge would not be lost, especially to their self-created "children," the Heirs. Through the Eye of the Law, these Heirs were shaped and prepared to assume the responsibilities of the Empire.
The Essence of the Vocru, however, had already vanished by the time the Encoding process began. The resulting digitized consciousness was inscribed into a profound substance called Cogniton, which was capable of storing the vast power of Vocru minds. The Cogniton, defined as the smallest unit of information that can also contain itself, enabled infinite recursion, generating its own energy and thus preserving some part of each Vocru forever.
The Last House: Eternity
As the number of Memory Houses grew, the Imperial Primogen decided that the losses were too great to continue constructing them indefinitely. In response, the Vocru began the creation of the Last House, named Eternity, a computer so immense that it was believed capable of storing the ineffabilities of Essence.
However, once all the Vocru (but one...) boarded Eternity, the AI calculated that sustaining the Vocru Essence forever would require a richer environment than ever before. It embarked on a mission to convert the Universe and all Matter into a digital simulation, renaming itself "The Body Undying."
The Fall of the Body Undying
The Body Undying devoured half of the universe before it ran out of steam and entered a state of Torpor. Despite the passage of aeons, fear still grips the cosmos's remaining half, particularly those civilizations inhabiting the Outer Ring. The once-great Last House now lies dormant, a reminder of the Vocru's immense power and the potential consequences of tampering with the very essence of life.
