Overview

In the boundless expanses of the universe reside the Xedraur – beings of a metaphysical essence that transcend conventional understanding. These enigmatic entities, composed not of flesh and bone but pure Consciousness, exist in a state of flux, their presence flickering between the realms of the seen and unseen. Currently sealed off from the Sphere of Existence by a device of Vocru make, their fury, weaponized their captors across deep time, would unleash hell if a means to release them were ever discovered.

Origins Shrouded in Cosmic Veils

The origins of the Xedraur remain cloaked in mystery, their existence first noted by the The Vocru, an advanced synthetic race renowned for their pursuit of knowledge and mastery over the physical and metaphysical realms. The Vocru’s initial encounter with the Xedraur marked a pivotal moment in their cosmic odyssey: It was during their exploration of a seemingly uninhabited planet, where energy patterns hinted at life yet blinked in and out of detection, that the Vocru first perceived the Whisper.

The Xedraur baffled and fascinated the Author-Emperors while frustrating their preconceived notions of life and intelligence. Communication with the Xedraur required unconventional methods and significant new technophilosophies but the Vocru allocated the puzzle the needed resources gladly, intrigued. The interface they eventually developed led them to discover the Sphere of Becoming - first dimension of Meaning beyond that of Existence the Vocru had found.
The first conversations with the Xedraur had to occur in metaphors, within a Meaning Space where thoughts and concepts intermingled instantaneously, transcending boundaries of language and form, requiring an upgrade to the nascent Iconic Language: the dawn of Runes.

An Unforeseen Alliance and Its Repercussions

Intrigued by the unique nature of the Xedraur and driven by a desire for advancement, the Vocru proposed an alliance. This association aimed to integrate the Xedraur into the broader cosmic society while enabling the Vocru to harness their metaphysical insights. However, this liaison had unintended consequences. The Xedraur, whose existence was interwoven with the fabric of reality, began to be exploited by other civilizations, leading to a tumultuous period in cosmic history.

Exile to the Sub-Dimension

As the Vocru’s understanding of the universe deepened, particularly through encounters with the transcendent Xistu – entities of light and symbols of an idealized future – the role of the Xedraur shifted. Once revered as keys to higher knowledge, the Xedraur were eventually confined to a sub-dimension. This exile was both a strategic move to access higher realms of existence and a reflection of the Vocru’s evolving ethics and understanding of consciousness.
