3.0 PC Creation Rules
Starting level for parties above 1st level
New and replacement PCs begin with XP equal to the party average (based on current living, active PCs). This is to ensure that a player who’s PC has not died and made nearly every session, is rewarded by remaining a “front runner”.Starting gold
Do not take the listed “starting gear / leftover coins” in the class or background descriptions. Use the table below instead and then individually purchase what you need.PC Starting Level | Starting Gold | Magic Items |
1st-4th |
As per PHB pg 143 using the average amount:
|
None (except you may purchase healing potions) |
5th-10th | 650 gp | 1 uncommon |
11th-16th | 6,500 gp |
3 uncommon 1 rare |
17th-20th | 21,500 gp |
3 uncommon 2 rare 1 very rare |
Alignment
No evil PCs allowed (Lawful Evil, Chaotic Evil, Neutral Evil) . If your PC shifts to evil as a result of play, they will become an NPC.PvP (Player vs. Player)
Combat *is* allowed If it occurs due to story and RP elements and does not entail real anger. Persuasion skills used against PCs: In most cases I will ask you to roleplay this out. I may ask for a check to help the other player get a sense of how convincing you come off to others, but PC reactions are left up to the PC.Roll Attributes (in Discord) or select standard array (No point-buy)
Starting in 2018, PC attributes must be rolled (see Rolling Dice in Discord bellow) or use the standard point array:
4d6 Method. Use the method described on pg 13 of the PHB - six sets of 4d6 (drop lowest) and arrange as desired (and then apply racial modifiers) - you may not play a special race with this method.
3d6 Method. You can also roll 3d6 per attribute and arrange as desired. When doing so you can pick two of the following benefits:
- Special Race Unlocked. Select any of the special races (see below).
- Free Feat. You may take a free feat at first level.
- Blend in. When accompanied by allies, begin each combat as if the Sanctuary spell has been cast on you.
Standard Array. Instead of rolling you may instead take the standard array of 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 (described on the same page). With this method you can choose any of the approved races.
NOTE: You may not roll first and then opt to take the standard array - choose one OR the other.
Rolling Dice in Discord
If you want to make a practice roll, post a mesage like "this is just for practice".When ready to roll post a message like "Stats for Kaden the Paladin:"
To roll best of 4d6 use this command: !randchar
To roll 3d6 use this command: !rr 6 3d6
NOTE: You must take the FIRST set of non-practice rolls.
Character Backgrounds / “Write Ups”
- BONUS: Writing your Character background (and sharing with me) earns your character inspiration!
- Please keep character backgrounds to about 1 page per level. I harvest your background for adversaries, contacts etc. - I need it short and sweet.
- Your background should also be “realistic” based on your capabilities at your level. If a Minotaur can mush you to paste, you should not single handedly kill waves of them in your background.
- Only “gift” yourself assets via a story that you can actually afford with starting gold.
- Please make every effort to create a background that fits the established canon of 100 Worlds.

Tinker Ability
Tinker ability has a fourth feature: replicate a single piece of armor, a weapon, one piece of gear, one set of tools (up to 50gp value). It can not be magical (potion of healing), chemical (poison, alchemist's fire, acid, etc), a focus, food, items listed in the tools section as “supplies”, mounts, vehicles, trade goods or services. Multiple gnomes working together can replicate vehicles and items of higher value (example: three gnomes could replicate a 150gp item).Racial Flight Modifications
Races with flight do not establish communities on high gravity worlds unless it is against their will or in desperate or dire circumstances. Racial flight- On low gravity worlds you can reach any height in the atmosphere with your fly ability and your flight time is unlimited.
- On normal gravity worlds (most common) your maximum ceiling is 10 x your Strength score in ft above sea level, above that height you can only descend at 100ft / round (a move action). Non-combat flight time is a number of minutes equal to your CON score * 6 . Combat flight time is a number of rounds equal to your STR score * 2. After using up your flight time a short rest is needed before you can fly again.
- On high gravity worlds your maximum ceiling is 5 x your Strength score in ft above sea level, above that height you can only descend at 200ft / round (a move action). Non-combat flight time is a number of minutes equal to your CON score. Combat flight time is a number of rounds equal to your STR score. After using up your flight time a short rest is needed before you can fly again.
- In zero gravity environments with no atmosphere (e.g. space) flying creatures can move through space with a Fly speed of 10 ft. with no limit on flight time or ceiling (those that respirate will need a means to breathe)
- Artificial gravity environments (solar ships) with an atmosphere are treated just like normal gravity worlds.
- Artificial, zero gravity, environments with an atmosphere are treated as low-gravity worlds.
Space Phobia
Deep Gnomes can not mentally tolerate the openness of space it is far too much of a contrast to their normal environment. They will not willingly board a vessel of any kind they suspect is destined for space travel. Seeing the openness of space causes them the frightened condition.Classes Allowed
Only standard PHB classes are allowed.- Rangers should use the revised Unearthed Arcana version
- Druids - Use XGTE to determine which beasts you’ve seen.
Multiclassing
Multiclassing is allowed if role playing events occur in game to explain it, or for games beginning above the initial adventuring tier (i.e 5th level or higher).Subclasses Allowed
All official subclasses except:- Bard - College of Whispers (XGTE)
- Paladin - Oath of Conquest (XGTE)

New Skills and Feats (see 4.0 New Equipment, Tools, Feats, Languages and Skills are available to help capture the flavor of fantasy space travel and a hint of “steampunk”.Available Pantheon
If your character pays homage to a deity, you can select one from either of these lists.- Deities of Greyhawk: from the PHB
- Non human deities: from the PHB
- Other: 100 Worlds has many cults and other lesser known pantheons. Want something specific? Even if I don’t have it detailed, I can probably work it into the campaign if it’s a good fit.
