6.0 Variant / Optional Rule Selections

The following Variant / Optional Rules from the PHB are in effect:

The following Variant / Optional Rules from the DMG are in effect:

  Combat
pg. 251 DMG - Flanking (except the bonus is +2 to hit, not Advantage on attack)
pg. 271 DMG - Climb Onto a Bigger Creature
pg. 271 DMG - Disarm (Attack)-
  • Attack roll opposed by Str(Athletics) or Dex (Acro).
  • Attack Success = no damage, but dropped weapon.
  • Disadvantage if target using wpn two-handed / Advantage if larger / Disadvantage if smaller
  • pg. 272 DMG - Overrun (Action/Bonus action)
  • opposed Str(Athletics) to move through enemy square
  • Larger mover has Advantage / smaller mover has Disadvantage
  • pg. 272 DMG - Tumble (Action/Bonus action)
  • opposed Dex(Acro) to move through enemy square
  • The following Variant / Optional Rules from XGTE are in effect:

      pg. 77 XGTE - Rate of Falling - fall at 500 ft per round
    pg. 77 XGTE - Flying Creatures and Falling
  • Subtract current fly speed from distance fallen when determining damage.
  • Falling creature can halt a fall using half its flying movement
  • pg. 78 XGTE - Sleeping in Armor
  • ¼ HD recover after long rest in medium or heavy armor
  • No levels of exhaustion removed in medium or heavy armor
  • pg. 78 XGTE - Going Without A Long Rest
  • After 24 hours of no rest, DC 10 Con or gain 1 level of exhaustion
  • DC increases by 5 for each consecutive 24-hour period
  • Pg. 85 XGTE - Perceiving a caster at work
  • Spell casting is normally perceptible unless something removes the material components.
  • Spells lacking perceptible signs of their effects may go unnoticed.
  • Pg. 85 XGTE - Identifying a spell
  • Takes a reaction to identify during casting, or an action to identify after casting
  • Must perceive the casting, the effect or both
  • Arcana check, DC 15 + spell level
  • Advantage if spell is cast a class spell and the identifier is of that class.
  • Pg. 85 XGTE - Invalid spell targets
    Pg. 86 XGTE - Areas of Effect on a grid - we will be using the token system.
       

    The following Variant / Optional Rules from XGTE are NOT in effect

    Waking someone (I’ll rule this on a case by case basis, but may use these as guidelines) Adamantine weapons
