Plague Map

This magical item was developed during the first year of the plague when a large outbreak occurred. Necromancers and diviners worked together to create a device that would allow them to detect and find large clusters of sick people together.
This device allowed Papinijuwaris to find the best hunting grounds where to find on the sickness that was ravaging the material plane.

Functioning

The plague map displays all the stars above the Material Plane. When consulted, the constellation above the fastest growing concentration of disease would light up and change colour. The Papinijuwaris expert star navigation and keen sense to detect disease meant that usually, it didn't take long for a group of Papinijuwari warriors to find and strike the people the Plague Map had highlighted.
Importantly, the map only works on the Material Plane, so Papinijuwaris are forced to either travel to the Material Plane while avoiding the Bright Shadow, or to stay somewhere hidden on the Material Plane. Accustomed as they are to a life in the shadows, most places in the Material Plane are far too bright for their tastes, and most Papinijuwaris prefer to make use of planar crossings, or to try and find the planar rifts that have become less and less infrequent as time goes on.

Location

The Plague Map is currently in the hands of one of the most powerful Papinijuwari tribes.
While a large contingent of Papinijuwaris went to the Plane of Air through a rift, to try and establish a stronghold there from which to travel easily, the tribe owning the Plague Map was charged with charting and planning future strikes for when they were back.
