2070
In 2070, Scotland's new megacity New Canterbury (former Golspie) is a center of technological innovation. It's skyline is crowded with bright organically shaped buildings and farmscrapers made out of wood or titanium dioxide coated materials. Flocks of drones occupy the sky, consisting of transportational, consumer and commercial units. Each in their assigned vertical layer.
The exponantial increase of automation has split the old typical workweek in half, roughly 20 hours a week on a flexible scedule. Most people use the rest of the week to enrich themselfs culturally and intellectually in either New Canterbury or by visiting other parts of the world by tubetrain. Streets have gotten a new meaning, since this isnt the main dimension of travel anymore. Streets are now the veins of the city, with Golspie culture flowing through it. Especially at night, the streets soar with leisure and cultural and activities. Because of this, artists are more endorsed by the public.
