Wild Bears are one of the feared predators situated in the lands of Peritus and Dens. They are known for attacking humans and beast races alike when they voluntarily or unwillingly entered their territory. Avoiding them and their territory is advised.

Anatomy

Wild Bears are much larger than a regular bear with size on par of an elephant. While many of them have dark brown fur similar to their original ancestors, the main differences are their red eyes and black claws, which is said to be tougher than steel. This is said the same with their teeth as witnesses said that it can cut down a tree with one bite.

Ecology and Habitats

Most Wild Bears are found in several forests near a city or town. Due to their aggressive tendencies against trespassers, towns and cities often put up signs and barricades to dissuade anyone from entering the forests where a Wild Bear is found. During winter, some used their durable claws to carve large rocks or trees into cave-like structures for them to hide their food and to sleep in during their hibernation.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Most Wild Bears are omnivores and while they sometimes eat plants, their main diet is usually meat from passing deers, lake fishes, and flightless avians. During winter, they often gathered and hid their food in their carved rock or tree shelters before they hibernated. Sometimes, they often brought in human remains as food if they lack enough food sources before winter.

Biological Cycle

Not is known about its biological cycle. However, they can hibernate like any regular bear and when it happens, some can leave their shedding during this period.

The fur of the Wild Bear is used for cloth and leather armor, which are favorable for hunters while the teeth and claws are usually made into daggers, axes, hammers, and several accessories.

As Wild Bears are one of the known predators of Volo, there is no known protection for them. However, some of them are hunted by Adventurers when they became a nuisance to the city/town's resources.
