First Son of Magister Asarion Spelltorrent, Aeras Spelltorrent is an old, greyed Elf from a time when Quel'Thalas was a prosperous, peaceful Kingdom. For most of Aeras' life, he and his family had lived in relative luxury due to his former position within Silvermoon as both a Mage and Magister. Before the Orcs were borne into Azeroth by the Dark Portal Aeras was often sent out on diplomatic missions into the Human kingdoms, most notably Dalaran, where he would spend time acting as an advisor and a teacher to students within the Kirin Tor and, later on, take up a more permanent rank within the magocratic organization.
Aeras and his Father, Asarion, both fought alongside the other High Elven forces of Quel'Thalas and the Human forces of King Thoradin during the Troll Wars more than two thousand years ago, this event would prove to leave a distaste in Aeras' mouth for the Amani Trolls and their belligerents having seen the cost of the war upon his people.
It was not until the Third War that Aeras would next see devastation claim his people, more than he could have ever foreseen. The Fallen Prince Arthas had made his gambit and his forces had overwhelmed Quel'Thalas, Aeras and his own family were among those lucky enough to escape the icy grip of death that day yet his father, Magister Asarion, would not live to see the rest of his days as he fell holding the line against the Scourge alongside so many of Quel'Thalas' people. Following this, Aeras would take up a personal charge to be with his Prince wherever he may lead them, going so far as to follow him through the Dark Portal as one of the Sunfury; though this would not last long as he would find himself following Voren'thal and joining with the Scryers, believing that his Prince had gone too far.
As the year's past life moved on as normal for Aeras, though his duties often left him with little time for his own family, something he would come to regret when he made the final decision to leave Quel'Thalas, Silvermoon, and the Horde behind. Eventually, Aeras had joined up with the Highblood Myrmidons, serving under Emissaries Eirdarias, Elyrius Aminor, and Kalinrea Freedreamer. To the chagrin of some of his fellow Myrmidons Aeras was reluctant to accept violence as the first means of solving a problem, often trying to initiate co-operation and diplomacy where it was possible; whilst this did earn him the respect and friendship of some, it left others with a bitter taste, notably Aeras and Vaelene Moonsong would often butt-heads over the best way to deal with a situation.
Over time however Aeras began to become embittered towards the Horde and its attitude upon the field of war, the often-received co-operation and help he would get from the Concordat and its forces in his missions and tasks did not help to keep the Old Elf's view of the Horde steady either, noting that only one among the Stygian Legion, the Eternal Sisterhood, had answered the call to help save Kalinrea Freedreamer, his Emissary, and at this point, adopted daughter, from the Void whilst many from the Concordat stood ready to help when called.
It was, during this time, that Aeras eventually defected from the Horde and left the Highblood Myrmidons with the help of the Sunnyglade Free Company in escorting him out of Quel'Thalas to start a new life, away from war and bloodshed.
