Matron Erena Lunarglade
Blood, reverance, sacrifice. In the height of the empire Elune was offered GLORY. Now the weak 'Kaldorei' have let our shrines and great temples reduce to dust... Disgusting.
About
The fanatical leader of the Eternal Sisterhood, Matron Lunarglade is a Priestess of Elune who has rejected the modern teachings of the faith under Tyrande and instead chosen to lead her flock to greatness. Unlike many of her fellow priestesses, she has used her talents to aid the Horde in its war obsessed expansionism in the previous years. An act that has horrified many Kaldorei and devotees of the goddess. Denounced by virtually every Kaldorei as a Heretic, a title she liberally lavishes back at them. Erena and her Eternal Sisterhood have carved a bloody and treacherous name for themselves. Decreeing it better to be remembered than to fall to obscurity like her predecessors.
History
Pre Invasion:
Born before the fall of the great empire to Alina Starsinger, Priestess of Elune; a daughter to Aurelie Starsinger - Matron of the Starsinger Crime Family - and Silas Lunarglade, a lowborn Owlcat breeder in what became an act of great embarrassment to her highborne Mother. The young Erena Lunarglade found herself living a disadvantaged life in the brief period of peace she endured as a Kaldorei, often attracting the ire of her mother's actions. A period of her life made only more difficult when the War of the Ancients began. Though Erena and her Mother were protected from the legion when Suramar raised its barrier her father was given no such luck, being sealed outside of the dome as it raised. Though Alina tried her best to raise Erena in Suramar, the lingering guilt of failing to save her husband further drove a wedge between the young Erena and her mother. It wasn't until towards the end of the bubble that Erena finally saw eye to eye with her mother. Though Alina had grown progressively more distant and disconnected in her grief, the time spent with her daughter teaching her of the ways of the Sisterhood and Elune had brought out more of her and Erena had hoped through training to be a priestess she could help her mother out of her depression. While this seemed to be the case after Erena had finally reached the status of Priestess her mother ended her life. Erena found herself disenfranchised with the goddess after this event, her mind filled with doubt and anger, this wouldn't change until the legions occupation of Suramar. Being stationed at the border of Val'sharah with the Shal'dorei rebellion she witnessed Elune's divine intervention in the Kaldorei lands near. Re-awakening her memory of the goddess' teachings she used her knowledge to aid in the retaking of Suramar. Particularly in offering relief to the evermore commons, a place she had come to take her home after growing tired of being associated with her mother's perceived humiliation.Post invasion:
Eager to witness the world that was a distant memory to her Erena quickly took a liking to the Nightborne's alliance with the horde. Enlisting in the Duskwatch to assist their new allies in securing Azeroth from the Alliance. Lunarglade saw Warchief Sylvanas as a figure similar to the leaders of old that brought prosperity to the Kaldorei of the past, and weakness in her former kin who had retreated to the forest. Believing that the hordes display of strength would eventually win over the souls of the Kaldorei in the end. During the war of thorns, Erena remained mostly in Ashenvale, working hard in occupied Kaldorei territory to secure and protect objects of her faith from a horde that was intolerant of her lunar faith due to repeat conflict with the Kaldorei. The burning of Teldrassil was a polarising moment for her, though she had no care for these "World Trees" that had not even existed when she called herself Kaldorei, her heart pained for the loss of life, who in her eyes were blinded by their foolish leader. Tyrande was to blame for the Kaldorei's suffering, if only they had a strong leader, Teldrassil would not have burned. A belief that only cemented in Erena's mind when the High Priestess enacted the ritual of the Night Warrior. Stealing Elune's light for her own and damning northern Kalimdor to fall under a cursed moon. Finding less satisfaction with the beaurocracy of the Duskwatch each day, and seeing grander purpose in herself. Erena eventually left the Duskwatch, alongside a small coven of priests and priestesses she had befriended over the years. This coven, under the guidance of Lord Zarival Songstrand, formed the Moonlight Melody, an organization of Shal'dorei faithful designed to protect the faith. Increasingly displeased with male leadership, which Erena saw as unacceptable, as well as Melody's repeat joint appeasement of the Kaldorei. Erena eventually usurped command of the Melody and enacted many radical changes to the religious order, banning men from learning the ways of the goddess and training non-priestesses as warriors, using her Duskwatch training to fashion out a Sisterhood worthy of the Empires Legacy. The Moonlight Melody was no more, only the Eternal Sisterhood Remained.Eternal Sisterhood:
Fanatical, underhanded but nonetheless effective. The Sisterhood has developed quite the reputation both in the Suramar courts and greater Horde. While not a force of evil, the Suramar Sisterhood is known as ruthless and not above using unsavory tactics to further its aims. Evoking magic from the days of the empire and rituals even the Kaldorei would argue is "too far". The Sisterhood serves as a reminder to Kaldorei everywhere of the dark history of their faith. The Eternal Sisterhood, under the command of Matron Lunarglade, has served the horde during the Fourth War, as well as multiple conflicts within the Saurfang Legion against the Concordat. Although originally favoring diplomatic measures against the Alliance things quickly got bloody with the non-elven races. In an ironic turn the organization found their closest bonds in the alliance with the terrorists of the Dirge of Teldrassil, Matron Lunarglade, and Harbinger Nethersong finding parallels in one another that neither would freely admit to their allies. In recent months, the Eternal Sisterhood has found funding from House Starsinger, whether her grandmother has given up her previous criminal ways and does this out of charity or whether Erena and she have come to an accord is unknown, however. Following the fall of the Saurfang Legion in Stranglethorn, the Eternal Sisterhood threw its support to the Pridesworn, an organization they helped found due to their close relationship with the Bilgewater Battalion and the Dustpaw Caravan. They currently operate out of Zin-Malor, at the ruins of Matron Lunarglade's birthplace.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
