The Monolith
"There be bad mojo in that thing. Matron says anyone dat spend too long near it be mutterin’ da same line! ’Make me whole again.’ Bettah we leave it be eh?” - Apostate Ru’jae
About
A pristine pyramid shaped oddity of an unknown metal, covered in ancient symbols from anunknown language promising untold knowledge of the secrets of Lunar Magic. At a glance thisseemingly blessed artifact of divine nature gives the impression of a calming aura, but remainsin its splendour for too long and the price of understanding its forbidden inscriptions becomes clear. The monolith emits an arcane aura to those around it. Effects are negligent at first, merely influencing the weak minded to protect and show it to others. Those with a more inquisitive mindfind themselves attempting to read the peculiar scripture written upon its surface. It is a harmless device in small doses, and can even be used to focus complex rituals with greater ease. Those who spend too long around it start feeling the more insidious effects of this relic of power however. From what the Eternal Sisterhood understand it is connected to the “Holy Martyr” - a nameless figure from times past that found herself ripped from the history books for an unnamed heresy, the only proof of her existence the sought after corpse parts that the organisation currently hunts after - but what exactly it truely is, or whether this figure of times past even created it is a mystery that few within the order wish to risk exposure to find out. The effects of this seemingly cursed item do not appear to manifest themselves to the undead. As such this relic is left under the protection of the Death Knight’s Folthon the Repentant and Veltroix Frostblight.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
