The Pridesworn
The Pridesworn were founded after a disastrous deployment to Stranglethorn and treachery within the ranks caused the Saurfang Legion to tear itself asunder. Built on the concept that they have all sworn an oath of loyalty as a matter of the personal pride which each of their groups hold dearly, the Pridesworn believe that they bring a certain quantity of level headedness and decorum to the art of war and as a result function better as a group. However, as shown in recent deployments amongst other things, behind the veneers of pride and knowledge rest internal and external strife which could tear the sect of the Saurfang Legion apart...
Formation:
The greater bulk of the original Pridesworns forces were originally part of a secretive Pact amongst forces within the Saurfang Legion of the Eternal Sisterhood, Dustpaw Caravan and the Wildcards of the Bilgewater Battalion. The Painted Shields showed interest in the arrangement but never fully committed. The Pact were convinced that the Thirteenth Grunt Legion's First Sergeant, Sokronal Bonespite, was not acting in the best interests of the Horde with his constant support of the Copperstreet Conglomerate. After a series of mishaps and many transitions against the Dustpaw Caravan, the Saurfang Legion was deployed to Stranglethorn in order to investigate some undead Trolls who threatened the Zandalari Empire when cohesion between its forces was at an all time low.
The dangers that the Saurfang Legion faced in Stranglethorn were not their greatest problem, in the end. After the Thirteenth left diplomacy with the Alliance unsalvageable, the Painted Shields who once supported the Bilgewater Battalion declared them traitors when they left to protect Hardwrench Hideaway from imminent assaults instead of staying in Grom'gol Basecamp. The Pact followed, and gained surprising allies in the form of the Highblood Myrmidons who were now under the leadership of Kalinrea Freedreamer. Together, they defended Hardwrench Hideaway and investigated the Thirteenth as the Loyalists accidentally revealed their friendship with Bonespite. Bonespite escaped the wrath of Overlord Azuk, but the Saurfang Legion were not happy with the trouble which the Pact and the Highblood Myrmidons had caused for them through ousting him.
Therefore, in a meeting after the deployment, the Ronin, Red Venturers and the Hand of Conquest made their distaste for allies who spy on each other clear, and moved to form the Autumnal Aegis which later also incorporated the Painted Shields who never quite did regain the faith of the Bilgewater Battalion who they had labelled as traitors in Saurfang. Those who remained in the meeting room, the Eternal Sisterhood, the Dustpaw Caravan, the Highblood Myrmidons and the Bilgewater Battalion went on to form the Pridesworn; opening new offices around the Orgrimmar Embassy and swearing that their new pact was one of personal pride which would be lost if one of the groups were EVER to betray the others...
Base of Operations:
The Pridesworn do not share a single barracks as the Autumnal Aegis do. Instead, they hold office within the Hall of Legends of Orgrimmar and use it as their place of meeting. Other than that, the forces of the Pridesworn are most commonly found in Azshara, Suramar or Quel'Thalas.
