Saltine Cracken

The Saltine Cracken is a mythical beast that dwells the seas. There are many sea shanties and stories that include it's destructive power and fierce nature. It is said to be a giant octopus with eight tentacles that each secrete a strange, sticky substance. This substance has various effects on a person, such as causing blindness, eating away at skin, or being used as an adhesive to stick you to the tentacle. You'll know the Cracken is near when it's dark shadow approaches your ship, causing it to rock and creak. You'll then have only moments until your demise.

On the opposite side of things, the Cracken is also seen as a symbol of bravery, toughness, and herosim by some. It is thought to be the apex predator of the sea, so one might recieve the title of "Kin of Cracken" to reflect these strengths.

Despite all of this however, there is no solid evidence such a creature exists. Just old tales and shanties that have made their way into recent traditions. I sure hope this thing isn't real anyway....

Anatomy

Eight tentacles, each that secrete a mysterious and dangerous substance and are 30 - 50 feet long.

Cracken's are also portrayed to not have eyes, though it is unsure where this portrayal originated.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

It is believed that tha Flapjacken can sense ships in a twenty mile radius and sense blood from up to fifty. It can also hear very well and swim extremely fast under water.
