Flooding Military Conflict in Ædeos | World Anvil

Flooding

During a religious rite of the Gathering in the Gáláwan mountains an underground river broke through the wall and flooded the cave, forming Gáláwá Lake Caves. Many of the Masters of the Thirteen Arts were lost, either drowned or vanished all together. The lake, which formed near the main entrance to the caves was naturaly populated by the Cait-mhara dall and there were talks, predominantly happening in the Gáláwá that it was Ithrós of the Depth, who formed the lake and claimed the ancient ritual place and its treasures all for themself. The event caused a massive change of water flow throught the Sáveni lands and was responsible for formation of spacious bogs near the Gáláwan mountains, where floods happened extremely rarely. During the first years after the event, the Gathering took place in different places as tribes and settlements competed for the prestige. Eventually, when Tæn — capital city was established, a new place for the ritual was taken and slowly after more and more Schools of the Thirteen Arts moved there, the new place was favoured ever since.
