Lotus harvesters
The lotus and the harvester are linked together. I know of no other folk who would go to such lengths to bond with their crops. It is a strange mixture of beauty and madness and I can't figure out why it atracts me so much.
Connection with the lotus
While it is true that Lotus harvesters bond with the parent plants, it is also true that the connection does not bear pain to the harvesters when physical damage is inflicted to the lotus plants themselves.
Exported goods
The lotus silk fabric
The finest fabric one can get their hands on in the entire Saveni. Lotus silk is very light, strong and breathing. When treated with respect it can last for ages but remembers every bit of history — it stains easily as well. For this reasons it is seldomly used for preparing entire garments. A single exception from this are the traditional robes of the harvesters — Éadaí lile uisce.
Exported lotus silks are very rarely molded or weaved with the Ædean wefts. In such cases the plants are usually very distant relatives to the initial blood plant, which makes the silk–harvester connection pretty weak. In fact, the rule of thumb is to use plants not closer than 8 generations, with optimum set at 13. This is meant to protect the harvester from anyone, who would want to use the silk to create a weave meant to harm the harvester connected to the silk.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
Cymrian dialect is the one most often used by the harvesters, as it is only their traditions that separate them from others.
Common Dress code
A very characteristic feature of lotus harvesters is their clothing, made solely from the parent plants nourished with their own blood.
Art & Architecture
The blooming lotus is the most common theme appearing in the handicraft and literature.
Coming of Age Rites
When the child is coming of age, they are given their first lotus seeds — the future parent plants. The rite is connected to the particular species of lotus. As it is mandatory to nourish the plants with the blood to establish the link in the Ædean plane, the plant is often refered to as the blood lotus. From now on they will be linked to the lotus and their generation to come, bearing the responsibility to keep them in health and find a peaceful pond to grow.
Funerary and Memorial customs
When a lotus harvester dies, their soul is bid farewell and the body is returned to the nature.
