Week 1 — Preludium

Which project are your worldbuilding efforts tied to?

Ædeos sprouts from the unconscious; heavily built with and through symbolism. This time it won't be any different. I'll trust my guts and go with the flow, adjusting emotional resonance to the theme currently at hand. Summer Camp will be all about worldbuilding. Unless a pressing need of a character prompt appears, I don't plan to descibe any. All that said, I remember Dimi's advice from some time ago: "There's only so much things you can pull out of the ass." So... I'll trust my guts, but double check the ideas to see how they fit to the big picture.

What world are you working on?

Summer Camp 2021 is all about Ædeos. Now, not to be confusing, Ædeos is also the name of the realm, which appears in the setting. It is meant to be kept mysterious and difficult to grasp in general, but obvious and natural at the daily life level, where people constantly interact with it. I have a couple of other settings in mind but I don't want to play Bilbo at that point.

Which area of the world(s) are you working on?

THIS SUMMER, I want to understand more about the two geographical regions of the setting, i.e., Galawa and Cymru, which my current main characters come from. I left some loose threads back in WorldEmber 2020, e.g., the places of outstanding beauty. Now's a good moment to revisit them again. There should be no (or little to no) additional information on other parts of the world, i.e. Aškari or their neighbouring countries, much darker and with a different vibe.

How much are you aiming to complete?

ALL OF IT! It's gonna be a fight for all 31 prompts and I believe I can do it if I lose myself in the flame. I know zero-one solutions won't cut it (300 words with just facts will be emotionally cathegorized as stubs). It's about flesh. Flesh, flesh, flesh! Flesh everything out!

When will you write?

At least 1 hour a day in the morning. The hour is still not entirely set and will need to be adjusted before the Summer Camp. At max, there will be 3 sessions:

• morning session (8-9AM)
• afternoon session (1-2PM)
• evening session (9-10PM)

Worst case scenario there will be at least the morning one left in the weekdays. I will do my best to write (or voice note) in 3 sessions during weekends.

Week 2 — Interludium

Organize the categories

The first part I did was to organize the world into categories. I don't have a fully developed idea of how to do it neat enough to make the table short and functional at the same time, so this will have to suffice for a while, maybe until the next big event. I've divided the world into planes (Ædeon, Void and Material) as the setting demands. Most of the stuff is in the Material Plane, so this will work for me best at the moment. Now, to navigate the search better I'll have to manage the tags...

Now, truth be told — I didn't use tags and memorized most of the stuff, but I know, in the long run I'd be making a noose for my neck. The system, I'll use will include:

• Plane
• Region
• Tradition
• Character
• Use (food, dye, poison, etc.)
• Cultural group
• In-world event
• WA event

I start looking for a proper image only after coming up with ideas, so my image pools will be websites with CC license images:

I have only one for short articles featuring many spcies/varieties — a checkerboard style with interchanging paragraph and image, with each block nearly square shaped.

• Single column long paragraph — 500x800 (ca. 130 words with sidebar)
