Ædeos is where all beings take their properties from and exist as separate beings, called concepts or ideas. Most of the concepts are complex, being connected to tens or hundreds of others, which give them additional properties. Pure, or singular, concepts exist as well but are difficult to access. These ordered structures are swimming in a constantly changing ocean of unordered and partially ordered concepts. That ocean is called Æter. All things perceived in the Material Realm have a connection to a concept living in Ædeos. These can be as trivial as the concept of a colour, or of a particular shape to as complex as the ability to perceive taste instead of colour (synesthesia). Over time the Material Realm evolved and made its connection seamless. Despite that, entering Ædeos is proving more difficult than simply following the connection from the Material Plane property to the concept counterpart in Ædeos -- life did not evolve to consciously do that. Over the years, however, people found ways to enter Ædeos. A structure was formed in Ædeos, which consisted of a selected set of skills and abilities to manipulate the concepts. The structure had the ability to withstand the ever-changing Æter and had the capacity to maintain an equilibrium between growth and dissolution. The structure is called Tanitris, often called the Tree of Tanitris. Following specialized training it enabled people to enter Ædeos in the same location each and every time.
