When the Magnus rulers were finally ousted after centuries of dominance, they attempted to flee by boat. In a desperate bid to prevent their escape, the Icemans intervened, leading to a violent confrontation. Tragically, Franz's family suffered greatly in the ensuing chaos, with many losing their lives at the hands of the Magnus dynasty and their vampire allies.
