Magical Vortex

Magical Vortexes are the pathways through which magic enters a world. For a time, a vertex existed between Faerie and Earth, allowing magic to enter the mortal world. This vertex was nearly completely closed in the aftermath of the Great Corruption during the Second Faerie Civil War, leaving only a lingering connection between the worlds. This connection allows for the unusually easy passage of beings between the worlds, but no longer allows magic to enter the realm of earth. The vertex was later reopened after the destruction of excalibur.
