Agítio - The Steed
Sévas serves as the deity of personal change, of growing as a person and adapting to situations. Agítio serves as the deity of universal change; of the orbit of the moon, the force of gravity moving something downwards, of the sun moving across the sky. Even the tides, which are part of Suróza and pulled by Sévas, are only able to move at all due to Agítio. In this, the Unbreakable Horse controls all that changes. One of the most obvious indicators of Agítio’s power is the changing of the seasons.
Agítio spends most of his power animating the wider universe and everything in it so has few worshipers in the smaller world of mortals, but those that do worship do so out of a desire to bring real change to their area. The Steed cannot bear to see anything static, be that a coastline unaffected by Suróza’s tides, a government in stagnation, or a vampire refusing to die. As part of this Agítio sometimes comes into conflict with the other gods who are trying to maintain a status quo of any kind, but the other deities know that without their Steed their precious universe would cease to move, and so most will attempt to appease Agítio with gifts and deals.
Agítio’s most important divine relationships are with those they spawned: Ámmos, Fidain, and to a lesser extent Haroch. Both older gods were created the instant Agítio attempted to move the universe, as though no Balance could exist without the concepts of Time and Entropy. Ámmos aids Agítio with animating the world, allowing objects to move through the universe in time as well as space, and Fidain is the result of all things within The Balance moving towards an end state. And finally, Haroch is the end state everything moves towards. Agítio and Fidain both do their part in carrying souls towards the youngest god. Together these 4 maintain the balance in a way none of the other gods are capable of.
Divine Portfolio
Agítio rules over the Laws of Motion, such a core aspect of the Cosmic Order that grants him near unlimited power and leverage even amongst the other gods. Luckily for all Creation he shows utmost devotion to his role, never once faltering or rebelling from his duties. Due to this he is also the God of Loyalty, Strength, and Hard Work, and it is said he fathered the first horses for mortals to aid them in all tasks.Divine Relationships & Shared Portfolios
Four Lords of Balance
Agítio, Ámmos, Fidain, and Haroch are the four fundamental forces that allow a living, active Cosmos to exist. The other gods all have a hand in Creation, in making all the wondrous miracles in the world. But without Motion and Time these miracles would be but a static painting none but the Gods could experience, and without Decay and Death there would be no more space made on the Universal Canvas, no ability for things to grow and new life to be made, and no meaning in the act of doing so.Triad of Change
Agitio is the prime and most powerful God of Change, but Sévas and Fidain both hold great sway over certain kinds of alteration. Sévas rules over personal and cyclical change, even aiding Agitio with bringing in the Seasons each year. Fidain represents the "negative" side of change - degredation and decay, the slow shifting of all things towards obvlion.Dread Escorts
Haroch is God of the Dead and Sédróm is the Pantheon's primary psychopomp charged with aiding The Shadow in collecting souls, but Agítio holds power even over this form of movement as well, and will occasionally aid the Dread Escorts during times of war or plague to make sure no souls are missed.Piety
You gain piety with Agítio when enacting change in the world, be that for better or worse- Toppling a stagnant government, or in some way causing a change in leadership
- Increasing the spread of either nature or civilization. It matters not which gains more ground, only that the landscape is changed
- Challenging those who would maintain the status quo of any system
- Supporting a system which hasn’t changed in many years, be that politically, economically, or by some other measure
- Using magic to challenge Agítio’s power; fire magic to negate the effects of winter, weather magic to prevent the effects of a storm made by Lútus that Agítio moved overhead, or even flight magic to ignore the effects of gravity
- Harming horses or pegasi, two of Agítio’s most important holy animals
