Description
Feeling like cold glass marbles when touched, these feline eyes once belonged to a great Sphinx, and grant the user the ability to look into the past as though they are revisiting old memories.
Mechanics
Visions of Yesterday
While holding both eyes you can use an action to activate their effect, stating a moment in time of up to 800 years ago (e.g. "300 years, 5 months, and 2 days"). Upon activation your senses are instantly transported backwards in time to the same location you are standing, bearing witness to the events of the past. You are only there as memory, and cannot influence or be influenced by any events you witness.
You may use these eyes for up to 10 minutes a day, though each activation counts as a minimum of 1 minute's use. You must concentrate as if on a spell while using the eyes.
Hasten Towards Tomorrow
Whether by curse or intent, you age rapidly while using the eyes. The amount aged is based on how long you use the eyes, and how far back in the past you attempt to witness, as noted below:
- Between now and 200 years ago: Age 1 week per minute of use.
- Between 201 and 400 years ago: Age 1 month per minute of use.
- Between 401 and 600 years ago: Age 5 months per minute of use.
- Up to 800 years ago: Age 1 year per minute of use.
This aging cannot be undone by any means short of a Wish spell or Divine Intervention.
