Odhrán Hedruno
Appearance
Whatver his true age is, Odhrán's face is that of a young man barely in his 20s, with distinctive half-elven ears, dark curly hair, and an extremely sharp jawline. While his clothing is plain, he is almost never seen without his shining golden lyre, for it was a gift from his Faerie Queen with a bolt of platinum running through its core - worth coin more than many people will see across their whole lives.Personality
Strange, even by the standards half-elves, are what seem to be two overarching moods that Odhrán seems to switch between with little warning or cause. The first is young, anxious, eager to please and quick to fear. But for any of his faults, he is capable of joy - he smiles and laughs with others, and his songs are full of light that can make men weap with happpiness. The second is old and melancholic. He looks always to the horizon, as if seeking for something that isn't there. While feeling liike this his rare smiles are bittersweet, and his songs so full of sorrow that few can withstand the ache they cause.Abilities
One of the finest bards this side of Amphousa's greatest towers, Odhrán's ability to play and sing could amaze a crowd of any size even without his natural magic imbued within. With his natural magic, he can truly enchant his listeners and bring them along with him on any musical journey; were he to sing of a dangerous storm, the listeners will physically see the cliffside beside them and hear the thunder above. When he sings of the land he lost, the colours of the world grow brighter and the heart fills with pain as the song ends. Besides his innate charming abilities (that would be extremely dangerous in the hands of a crueller man), he has proven extraordinarily gifted with learning "normal" bardic magics as well, able to understand and actually make use of descriptions from warlocks or wizards as though he'd been studying his entire life.History
The Halls of Arkadia
Though once upon a time Odhrán hailed from lands beyond The Varolian, the exact details of where and even when are nothing more than a haze. All lost to the mythical realm of fae and elven gods he found himself in. He has know idea how long he was there, or most of what happened, but he knows it was the highest point of his life, filled with a beauty and pure joy the likes of which our mortal world could never hope to replicate. There he met The Queen of the Faeries and walked across endess sunbeams with her at his side.Lost and Found
However long the bright days lasted, they did come to an end. At some point Odhrán found himself in a strange city far from home, yet with full knowledge of the language spoken by those passing by. Confused and afraid, he did the only thing he know; found somewhere to play his music and hope the world would start making sense again. He wrote a song about the Queen and the land he had lost, filled with melancholy and longing for what had become his home. And while people loved the song, eventually they began accusing him of being a dark mage ensorcelling those who heard him. Just when it seemed the once joyous listeners were about to treat him violently in their fear and anger, The Exotics arrived. They asked some questions, and offered to bring him with them on their travels - an offer he was all to ready to accept.Chronicler and Bard
Over the next few months he began revealing his extreme talent with songs and music that not only bordered on the magical, but were truly magic in nature. These months were full of danger, but he found a purpose and a mentor. The first in the form of chronicling all the many adventures of The Exotics, and the second in the form of Kaus, who spent time looking after Odhrán, trying to teach by explaining how his warlock magic works and helping the bard translate it to music and song. The Festival of Change - 674 MA
Odhrán gave a brief perfomance in the previous years festival, during which he amazed countless spectators with a simple song, but many judged his elven nature and he needed the supportive roars of a gladiator to encourage applause. A year later, he bandied together with a group of satyr called The Nightingales he'd met after that performance to truly put on a show. He would tell the story of the Exotics so far, with the assistance of the Exotics themselves as actors in their own tales. With a stage of illusions courtesy of The Nightingale's leader, a choir of satyrs, and the grand displays from the protagonists throughout, it was a performance the entire city would remember for many years to come.Time for Peace
After Chálkináti was founded and the festival was finished, the adventures of The Peregrine seemed to slow as The Exotics began relying more and more upon teleportation to get around. This mean time for Odhrán to rest, to focus on his music and his magic, to continue writing his Epic Song about his friends.
