Soriz the Stalwart
Appearance
Soriz was once a stalwart Tortle, taking pride in his reptilian features, with green skin with a giant shell upon his back which he calls home (and his last line of defence). With yellow-green eyes and a sharp tortle maw, he gives a menacing, yet almost laid back impression. Wearing armour plating to cover where his shell cannot, Soriz also wears blue trousers and a half skirt around his waist. Upon welcoming a new guest into his head, Soriz Ósta has fused with the ancient dragon only known as the Dragon King which in turn has altered his appearance drastically. His green skin now turned to scales as white as snow with icy blue highlights. His eyes now turned cold and blue with horns protruding out of his head, and sharp draconic claws, he now takes on the form of an icy dragon turtle.Personality
A former slave to Findex, he was once obedient but is now an (almost) free Tortle. He spends the rest of his days adventuring with his crew, trying to make a name for himself, but not trying all too hard. With his newfound freedom he is very laid back, almost to the point of not caring most of the time. A strong fighter and is adept with a bow as well as a morningstar, Soriz is a capable opponent in the arena, but tends to be quite unlucky most of the time depending on the day. Upon fusing with the mad Dragon King, he has taken it upon himself to free up his memories that have been locked away to help the dragon inhabiting his mind to better understand him. His newfound curiosity of getting to understand his new abilities and grow stronger as his dragon partner drives him forward.Abilities
Soriz is an adept archer, wielding the Webgrip Longbow, he can shoot slowing spider webs to whatever he targets along with ensnaring strikes to ensure whatever he wants is secured in place. Also capable of creating thorny terrain wherever he chooses, he can turn an innocent patch of grass into a makeshift cheese grater. His shell is also incredibly sturdy, meaning he can retract his whole body into it and protect himself from most forms of harm, gaining strength from taking successive hits he can harden his shell in a pinch making his defensive capabilities even stronger. Having awakened his draconic power, he can communicate with the dragon in his head and is now capable of creating powerful icy breath, freezing everything it touches. However with his new draconic appearance, he has attracted the ire of anything serpentine, but as a result becomes more intimidating against them.History
Shipwrecked
A faint memory to Soriz, having only regained this he remembers only slight details of being dragged off into the distance from a shipwreck by a strange woman with a mechanical bird. It would seem he would need to figure this out with the help of his new draconic partner.Enslaved to Findex
Soriz was enslaved by Findex for an indiscriminate amount of time, Soriz himself does not know how long he was controlled for but only knew of the fact only after he was freed. Once the Exotics were given to Findex as reparations for the damages caused by the former captain Yurius, Soriz had first met the crew through unusual means, by shooting both Kaus and Odessa’s familiars and capturing them to be taken back to Findex’s mansion. Once the Exotics had figured out what was going on with Findex’s servants and how they were all being controlled, the crew had set out to get a potion to break the spell. Soriz was forcibly fed the potion and was eventually freed from his mental bindings, now a free Tortle, he swore vengeance upon the man who had taken so many years of his life from him in blind servitude. To which Soriz proceeded to beat Findex into an unrecognisable pulp, he was now truly free to live as he pleased.Joining The Exotics
Upon being freed by the Exotics, Soriz was given new purpose, and so had decided to spend the remainder of his days adventuring with his new found friends, the Exotics, under new management with the new captain, Garrac Kantelantos. He now sails across the Varolian searching for things to do and loot to steal, while also getting stronger. On their adventures they head to the mountaintops in search of parts of the ancient mechanical weapon, The Destroyer, to which they meet an ancient Half Dragon, known only by itself as the Dragon King, malformed and maddened, the Exotics put up a great fight and defeat the ancient Dragon King, and is promised great rewards, to which Soriz is given permission to use the body of said dragon to gain great draconic powers, much like the other dragonborn known as Sruto. And so Soriz sets out to find someone who can infuse him with the draconic power found in the dragon’s corpse.Draconic Transformation
Having been given the corpse of the ancient Dragon King, Soriz takes it upon himself to find Xanthe Ósta, in order to gain the incredible powers of the dragon. Soriz agrees to become a servant of Xanthe in exchange for the infusion. After a great deal of unbearable pain and suffering over the course of several days, Soriz finds himself with a new entity taking up part of his mind. The spirit of the ancient Dragon King, initially cold towards Soriz, he gets to grips with his new host body and realises that it is weaker than he had anticipated, however there is still room to grow yet and many memories to go through to get a greater idea of who he is stuck with for the rest of his days, giving him advice on his fighting style and lofty ambitions such as defeating Zykida after disrespecting him by dragging him high into the atmosphere.Frightening Dreams
Having found out that the immortal, Telio Alori has taken a great interest in Soriz’s draconic powers, Soriz has become cautious of anyone trying to examine him after what had happened to Garrac previously. The Dragon King warns Soriz of an impending threat of Telio trying to invade his mind while he sleeps. Soriz and the Dragon both agree to fight together against Dream-Telio once Soriz falls asleep. Once in the dream world, Soriz is completely in control, causing his wild imagination to make the Dragon King grow many times in size, much to his own delight, followed by Soriz also growing to colossal size so that they can both fight Telio together. The two, while unable to actually cause any harm to Telio himself, manage to fend him off for the night, getting him to disappear, while also inadvertently giving Telio an idea of just how powerful the dragon actually is.
