The Planeswalker
She Who Walks The Stars
Abilities
"I just remember a light, so bright that it blinded everyone else, and all I could see was a golden silhouette walking away. By the time the light wore off a few seconds later, every single demon in the city had been turned to dust." - Zykída MiliadesWhat little is known of this elusive Immortal indicates that she was capable of travelling all the realms of the Cosmos, from the darkest part of The Underworld to the highest reaches of The Aether. Furthermore, like a God, she could alter and control these realms at will - turning a patch of Éda into a hellscape, or the harshest parts of The Underworld into lush meadows. With such reality altering powers, some have claimed she was greater than even The Dragon Zarligantír himself.
Appearance
Only a handful of mortals have seen her, and all report the same thing: a blinding light and a golden outline with no recognisable face or features. Some claim the figure has wings, others that they noticed the movement of fabric like a dress.Personality
Judging by her secrecy and the exceptionally few times she's appeared, The Planeswalker is likely a being who likes her privacy and solitude. Judging by the rumours that she has been hard at work creating her own paradise for mortals to live in, it is assumed that she is generous and loving. Outside of these speculations, there is no evidence for how she actually feels or acts.History
Ascension?
The Immortals are not Gods. In fact, they regularly flaunt this fact, and all know of the claims that they are actually more powerful than certain deities, notably Haroch. And the difference becomes more apparent when historians can trace an Immortal's history, often even as far back as their parentage, or at least back when they were mortal like everyone else. But this is not so for The Planeswalker: no mortal even knows her real name, and all records of anything she has done within the last few centuries are mysteriously empty. This lends some credence to the theory that she has ascended to divinity, and erased all traces of her worldly past. The main supporting evidence for this idea is that The Immortals have issued a country-wide law; any cults worshipping her as a God shall be banished or executed. For why would they ban the worship of this being if it had no effect? The Promised Land
The idea that The Planeswalker is constructing, or has already constructed, a Paradise somewhere amongst the stars has spread like wildfire across The Varolian. People fear the unknown, and since Haroch has never once shared the secrets of his domain, people naturally fear the concept of death. Will their afterlife be kind? Have they earned a place beside their Gods in fields of peace in the loving corners of The Underworld, or be cursed to wander wastelands until they turn into demons? This Paradise removes the fear and doubt for many. Preachers speak of a Land of Plenty, where souls will be nourished with infinite energies and want for nothing. Fear and suffering will be a thing of the past, and there are no requirements to enter. It sounds almost too perfect, and unfortunately for many their desire to see this place has led to early deaths. Suicides and religous murders have been rapidly increasing across The Republic, all in the hope that the people killed will have all their wishes granted in this realm beyond. Perhaps this instead is why The Immortals have banned her worship?
