Description
These wondrous flying disks have been used in Amphousa for generations to assist with both constructing and travelling between the many peaks of the city. Four variants are known to exist, however the Xanómenes family only seem to allow others to use Copper and Silver disks, reserving Gold and Platinum for themselves and honoured guests.
Mechanics
Each disk has its own command word, size, weight limit, fly speed, and command range. Once a disk's command word is spoken, it floats into the air and will obey the users spoken commands.
You can send the disk to travel alone to a destination within its command range of you if you speak the command word, name the location, and are familiar with that place. The disk comes back to you when you speak another command word, provided that the disk is still within command range.
If a disk is forced to carry more than its maximum weight limit, it will begin falling to the ground at a rate of 60ft per round.
Copper - Uncommon
This disk is most commonly used for transporting goods throughout Amphousa. It is 10ft across, has a fly speed of 20ft, and can carry up to 1000lbs. Its command range is 200ft
Silver - Rare
This disk is reserved for high-paying senators and other rich folk to travel through the city. It is 5ft across, has a fly speed of 60ft, and can easily carry up to 250lbs. It can carry up to 500lbs, but going over 250lbs will reduce its flying speed to 30ft. Its command range is 400ft
Gold - Very Rare
This disk variant is used by members of the Xanómenes family at their leisure. Capable of magically resizing with an action, this disk can be anywhere between 1ft and 10ft across. It can carry up to 500lbs with a fly speed of 80ft, and double that with a fly speed of 40ft. It has a command range of 1 mile.
Platinum - Legendary
It is said there are only a handful of Platinum Disks in existence, and that they are custom made only to serve as transport for Immortals that visit the city. Nevertheless, some information has been scrapped together about them from rumours and gossip spread over the years.
It is rumoured to be capable of resizing to anywhere between 1 inch and 60ft across, having a 120ft fly speed carrying up to 2000lbs, a 60ft fly speed carrying up to 4000lbs, and a 30ft fly speed carrying up to 8000lbs! More impressive still, its command range is believed to be infinite!
