Lady of the White Well

• The Lady of the White Well is the daughter of a nymph, banished to be bound to the pool of water she was born in for eternity as punishment for her mother’s infidelity. Skin and light as silver and hair as white as clouds, the Lady of the White Well is an elf who yearns for love. As such, those who interest her gain boons and those she falls in love with earn her blade so they may become her champion and free her from her banishment by becoming her true love, yet all have died in their attempts and thus she waits.

The story of the Lady of the White Well:

The tale of the Lady of the White Well is common among the other Archfey for its certain romantic and fascinating qualities.

A jealous Archfey plotted against her only real rival for Corellon's affection: Sehanine. By placing a glamour upon an eladrin knight to make him look like Corellon and sending him, charmed into Sehanine's bathing chambers she was able to seduce the goddess with a puppet. Sehanine from this union bore a child, whom she believed to be Corellon's.

When Corellon discovered the child and the story behind it, knowing that it was not his and being outraged at her, he exiled the child and bound her to the pool where she had been conceived. Sehanine cared for her daughter, taught her secrets of the night and of magic until suddenly the schism between her pantheon marked her sudden departure from the Feywild. Ever since the Lady of the White Well has been in waiting for one who is worthy of her heart and hand.

Many over the years have tried to court the Lady of the White Well and all have failed, yet sometimes one comes along who intrigues her. To those who prove to impress her she offers boons, and to those for whom her heartaches she offers her sword and the chance to prove themselves as her champion and win her hand. These potential champions, a small number of men and women over centuries, have risen and fallen leaving their Lady all alone and waiting for her true champion.

It is said that a young Titania stumbled upon the White Well as a child and was given a powerful boon by the Lady, something she carries to this day. The Summer Queen marks the Lady as one of the Circle of Stars and the Summer Court, despite the fact that few know where the White Well is and even fewer have seen the Lady.
