Bakar
Bakar
The Bakar are a highly intelligent, bipedal reptilian species that are as swift as they are intelligent. Their body structure is similar to that of a velociraptor, but they are much larger in size, adjusted to support an armored human rider. The Bakar are covered in tough, scaly skin that acts as a natural armor, protecting them from the harsh elements of the plains. Their heads are adorned with sharp, curved horns, and their tails are long and muscular, providing excellent balance and agility in combat.
Bakar'idr culture places great emphasis on the special bond that forms between the Bakar and their riders. When a Bakar is born, it is carefully chosen by a rider who will become their partner for life. The pair bond is formed through a combination of training and empathetic communication, allowing the Bakar to understand and respond to their rider's commands with remarkable precision.
The Bakar'idr saddle is designed to fit snugly onto the Bakar's back, providing a comfortable seat for the rider while allowing the Bakar freedom of movement. The saddle is decorated with intricate patterns and symbols that reflect the Bakar'idr's deep connection to their mount. The tack used to guide and control the Bakar is similarly decorated, with each rider customizing their tack to reflect their unique personality and bond with their mount.
Despite their formidable appearance and fearsome reputation, the Bakar are loyal and affectionate creatures, forming deep emotional bonds with their riders. This bond is reflected in the way the Bakar interact with their riders, showing affection through nuzzles, playful nudges, and even protective behavior in times of danger. The Bakar'idr consider their mounts to be partners and companions, not merely tools or beasts of burden.
