Shredder Spats
Spats are a mollusk often found on the black beaches of the crescent isles inner rim. At low tide, they can be found burrowed into the nutrient rich ash sands, a few feet down, usually remaining there until the tide comes back in, before rising and moving on. They earn the name ‘Shredder Spat’ from their long, straight, razor sharp shells, the largest growing to be nearly two feet long and a full inch wide. Kar’chari, tending to prefer bone over metal since time immemorial, often use these larger shells as utility knives, and it is a quite common activity among Kar’’chari younglings to hunt for these mollusks, their shells usually being a child’s first weapon.
