The Elemental Planes
The elemental planes are not planes, per se, but vast regions of The Dream where the mana is differentiated by particular elemental attributes. Because of the nature of the dream, these regions tend to exhibit all of the most extreme qualities of a particular element, in all of its many manifestations. Because the very mana in the region is already bound up with the information of the element, it is easier to use when wielding magics of the same type. While it is tempting to think of the elemental planes in terms of Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Light, and Dark, there are a multitude of regions within the Dream that represent the essence of a thing. The planes of Hate, Fear, and War are powerful examples of this.
