Ozivix

They are so cute...maybe I should get a pet?

  The Ozivix is a small furry four-legged creature native to the planet of Rant. It is domesticated and used as a pet origanlly in the country of Regeis, but it is now also popular on The Station.  

Anatomy

The Ozivix is around 36 cm tall, they have long legs, a small torso, a triangular head, large ears, and large eyes. They also have long bushy tails with white tips. Their fur is soft and usually black or dark red. But other colors have started to become more common.  

Habitat

The Vixie're were the ancestors to the Ozivix, and they originally lived in the same valley as the kingdom of Regeis on the planet of Rant. The Vixie're have since become extinct and only their descendants, the Ozivix lives on. The Vixie're preferred to build their nests in small cramped spaces where they could take care of their young for the first half year of their lives.   The Ozivix like boxes, closets, and small spaces. Some of them like high places while others like small spaces on the floor.

Dietary needs

The Ozivix are omnivores and they eat what their owners give them. On The Station there are several brands and flavors of canned food available to buy. Food for them are pretty expensive on The Station and as such the Ozivix are most common in the section of Monochrome. On the planet of Rant the canned food is cheap and the pets also get fresh food that isn't canned. They like to eat special vegetables found on Rant and smaller animals local to Regeis.  

Reproduction

As mammals, the Ozivix are viviparous, meaning that they give birth to live young. The females go into heat during late winter, and the pups are born during late spring. They usually get litters of 3-6 pups. Both parents usually take care of the pups.  

In media

In folklore, they were usually depicted as sometimes bad or good, but always mischievous. As a popular pet, there are many modern retellings of old folklore and also new stories in current media. In modern media, they are mostly depicted as good.
