Silver Drop

This is my favorite plant. I like the tea. It doesn't look that exciting to draw, though.

The silver drop is a plant used as both a herb and a spice. It's also used as a tea by the Dragons. It is a fast-growing annual found in abundance around Nessa.

Anatomy

From the root system sprouts around 10-30 stems. These stems are flat-ish and around 3-5mm wide. Every stem has around 1-20 teardrop-shaped leaves. The entire plant is silvery in its hue and its scent is tangy. Every stem is around 25cm long without leaves. The leaves are around 10cm long.   The plant has small purple flowers, and these flowers have 5 heart shaped petals and a yellow middle. The petals are darker purple towards their tips and lighter purple towards the middle.

Habitat

The plants can be found growing in all earth-covered areas. In documents and files in The Station's Library this plant was filed as a pest. It takes the nourishment from other plants in the soil. Other plants can't be planted in close proximity to this plant. It is also easy to grow them in containers which is why Silver drops are grown at the Station as well.

Harvesting

A couple of months after the seeds have been planted, the leaves of the plant can be harvested. If the leaves are left to mature for too long, they may become bitter in flavor, however, they are still edible. Small green seeds appear after the flowers have bloomed and begin to fade. These can be harvested after a couple of weeks, but they are still edible after they have turned brown. The young green seeds have a stronger flavor.

Uses

The entire plant is edible but the leaves of the plant is used as a herb for food and as a herbal tea. The flavor of the herb is slightly citrusy with a sweet afterbite.   The seeds are used as spices. The flavor of the spice is sweet with a strong salty afterbite. There are a lot of people that don't like this flavor but most Dragons do.   The roots are also used in food, mostly soups. It tastes similar to the leaves but has a lot stronger taste.

I wonder what dragons think of this plant... and if they like the taste?

They like all three uses for it, but since tea is so popular among the dragons I think they like the use of it as tea the best. XD;
