Without this device I wouldn't have been alive at this age.

The Osseous necklace is a device used by patients of Osseous Decay. A heinous condition that some Merfolk suffers from. The technology for this device was developed on The Station by a group of scientists and researchers employed by the Government.

History

The creation of the Osseous necklace was a result of several years of research and collaboration between biotechnologists, engineers, spell engineers and medical professionals. With very little funding as the condition is very uncommon among the general population.   The development team focused on creating a device that was not only functional but also portable, non-intrusive and aesthetically pleasing, catering to the merfolk's cultural emphasis on beauty and form.   The technology for the actual device was finished around 30 years ago and it was released to a couple of people with this condition. The device and the technology for the device has been continuously updated and more funds have come in from a private charity since then.

Functionality

The Osseous necklace is equipped with several advanced features designed to monitor, support, and treat individuals with Osseous Decay.
  • The necklace continuously monitors the wearer’s vital signs, including bone density, heart rate, and other information. This data is transmitted in real-time to medical professionals who can adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • The device can send alerts to both the patient and their healthcare provider if it detects any concerning changes in the patient’s condition
  • Utilizing low-frequency ultrasound technology, the necklace stimulates bone regeneration, promoting the repair of brittle and damaged bones.
  • The device also contains magical spells relevant to the wearers body to help relieve pain and to promote body wellness. These spells can be activated and deactivated by the patient and remotely by the healthcare providers.
