An army of mixed mortal races with the Guardians aid attempted to breach Felvar's ward, which was keeping the citizens of Axen locked inside their town. As a response, Felvar pursued them to the edge the The Devils Mouth. He became what they feared most and one by one he scared everyone but the Guardians off the edges of the canyon by their own choosing, each too afraid to face fear itself. As Felvar peeked over the edge of the canyon to admire his handiwork, Absolum leaped up from the depths as a cloud of shadows which was so dark that it was unaffected by daylight. His darkness not only consumed Felvar while he was in titan form, but it also marked a permanent cloud of darkness upon Eden as he surfaced.

A Quick Reaction

Realizing how serious this was, the Guardians knew they'd have to act fast or Eden would be enveloped by eternal darkness. After a lengthy battle the guardians weren't able to slay Absolum, but they were able to knock him back down into the Devils mouth before Fate arrived and made sure that he didn't climb back out. Unfortunately, no matter the efforts applied no one present was capable of clearing the blanket of darkness which Absolum had spread over the canyons lip.

His Shadow Lingered

The darkness remained there for centuries and was given many names, Absolums shadow, the Dark Cloud, the Delusional Dark, but it was later officially titled Lagomous by the citizens of Axen. It was dubbed not only as forbidden territory to tread, but it was also told to be to be unhallowed grounds. This was largely due to the effects placed upon the poor souls of operation "light Bringer," the first mortal expedition to attempt to map Lagomous. They entered the Dark cloud with thirty men, but left only with a dozen, and when they emerged all had been driven mad but two.

Scary Shadows

After this event, mortals and divines alike were put on edge due to the fact Felvar's realm was Eden, meaning that his death had been permanent. A rumor spread first by the deities, then the mortal tongue implied that Absolum had devoured the spark of fear. This made him the god of abyssal darkness and fear, increasing his overall power, and only serving to imply the obvious. If he was ever able to make his way out of the The Abyss, Absolum was a threat to all everyone.
In modern day in Eden this is actually why people believe its so common to be afraid of the dark.
