Air Genasi

Basic Information

Anatomy

A faint but constant breeze accompanies Air genasi, tousling their hair or stirring their clothing. Some speak with breathy voices. A few display odd patterns lookling like tattoos on their flesh or grow crystals from their scalp.

Behaviour

Air genasi have been known to make mercenary groups, and take air genasi from their humanoid parents to raise them with their own. Once the groups fall apart the child lives with one or two of the group. 
Their personality tend to represent many stereotypes of the genasi. They are fash and free-willed and view their genasi brethren as cousins. They are competitive, but with a strong bond of kinship. Generally proud and happy to indulge in shows of awe of those familiar with their race. Many people are aware of their hair blowing and their tattooed-like arms or crystals. Their drive and strong will makes them excellent leaders.

Civilization and Culture

History

There are many stories of air genasi being formed as they are the oldest genasi. One was that the dijinn often took human concubines and from these unions were born half-elementals who eventually had children of their own. Another was that the many air genasi were not in from dijinn but from the material plane itself.  The most interesting tale though was the tale of the genie. 
Many of the other genies did not wish to grant wishes and would not allow any form of servitude. However, the Dijinn enjoyed trickery, fine meals, flattery and were fine with temporary servitude, as long as they received fair reward. It was told that sometimes women would wish for a baby, and the dijinn would gift them one, but it would be the dijinn's child.
Either way air genasi were formed.

Unending Breath. You can hold your breath indefinitely while you're not incapacitated.
Lightning Resistance. You have resistance to lightning damage.
Mingle with the Wind. You know the shocking grasp cantrip. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the feather fall spell with this trait, without requiring a material component. Starting 5th level, you can also cast the levitate spell with this trait, without requiring a material component. Once you cast feather fall or levitate with this trait, you can't cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).
