Cooking Tools

Cooking 1.0 (Beta Tests)

We have created a simple base for our 1.0 Cooking System. This system gives the cooking tool more use and builds it off our various other systems. While this will see updates, we generally run a beta test for about six months. As released in July of 2021, we will likely be revisiting the data in January of 2022. We will release significant announcements of the system in Phrelle Announcements.

Step 1: Gathering Ingredients.

When you are in a one-shot or exploration system game or event, you have the opportunity to come across monsters, beasts, or plants. If there is enough harvestable meat or a plant that can be used for cooking comes down to a DM decision.   Harvesting Meat: When the DM has decided there is enough harvestable meat on a creature, you will make a Harvesting Tool (Dexterity) check. The DC for this check is Monster CR + 10, with the DM can set the amount you get from a creature based on its size, gaining an additional material every five over. Medium or Smaller: Max 1 Large: Max 2 Huge: Max 3 Gargantuan: Max 4

Plant Harvesting: When the DM has decided that a plant can be harvested for cooking, you will have to roll either a Harvesting Tool (Dexterity) or a Herbalism (Wis) check. The max you can gain from any one plant is four. You gain an additional one material every five over the DC. Recruit & Initiate | Harvest 12 | Herbalism 10 Novice | Harvest 14 | Herbalism 12 Adept | Harvest 15 | Herbalism 13 Veteran | Harvest 16 | Herbalism 14 Mythic | Harvest 17 | Herbalism 15

Step 2: Deciding on your Dish

Once you have materials from this system, you will choose one of four types of food to prepare. Meat-based dishes provide benefits to physical stats, Drinks provide bonuses to magical stats, bowls provided bonuses to skills, and Baked Goods have restorative properties.   Once you have decided the type of dish, you will pick the rarity of the dish you target, from common to legendary. The higher the quality, the longer it takes and the better the effects. The points for the dishes are: Common (10 Points - 1 GP) Uncommon (25 Points - 5 GP) Rare (75 Points - 15 GP) Very Rare (150 Points - 50 GP) Legendary (225 Points - 100 GP) Every Nat 20 in production adds one serving.   We ask you to give your food a name like Kobold Fried Beholder Eye Stalks, for example. When your food is finished, you will find out what additional effects were randomly rolled to it, for example, your Kobold Fried Beholder eye Stalks of Strength.   The Submission Form: Cooking form
