Adventure 101

  The passionate elf could stay in their homeland and continue to live their life, decorating their home, cooking, singing songs, and enjoying life, or they could adventure the world and experience something they could never imagine. An elf has many different passions, and friendships throughout their life, and adventure is just one passion to follow.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Slender build with little to no body hair. Their skin, eyes and hair are similar to humans. However, there are slight differences. Their skin could be blueish-white, bronze or copper. Their eyes gold or silver and their hair blue and green.

Biological Traits

Elves appear hauntingly beautiful due to their fine features. They are slender and graceful.

Growth Rate & Stages

Not usually past adolescence until they reach 110 years old. They don't age dramatically and when they reach an older age their hair starts to become gray or darker, however aging does not affect their health.

Ecology and Habitats

They enjoy secluded places of nautre and nations of civizlized world. Their favored terrain is temperate forests. When they find their home they create places of beauty and ancient forests or silver spires glittering with faerie light.

Behaviour

Their passions are strong, but move on to another quickly.  Just like the Eladrin elves their emotions are strong and can be moved easily from laughter, anger misery, and quickly back to calm. They can have impulsive behavior and many races see them as flighty, but they are typically responsible despite their whimsical nature. They can have difficulty taking matters seriously, possibly due to their lifespan, but when threats arise they will stand with those who are strong friends and allies. When it comes to a threat to their friends, family or livelihood they are grimly serious do what is necessary.    They make strong friendships and love simple joys such as dancing, singing, and contests of skill, and have a natural aversion to uninteresting tasks and are considered fun-loving by nature.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Traditionally elves have a few names throughout their lifespan. As a child they are given a short androgynous name such as Kin, Ara, Del. After they become an adult they choose their own elven name, generally with a slight gender lean: Keyleth, Himo, Naivara, Varus.    Their family name is generally that of nature and a combination of elven words.

History

Branched away from the eladrin and became the green and wild elves. For a millenia Eladrin and the elves ruled their lands in peace, but the eladrin invaded the dark and green elf nation leading to The Crown Wars lasting 3000 years. The green elves suffered many defeats losing their territory, driven to the wilderness. The gap between eladrin and green elves changed over generations leading the green elves to be more connected to the wilderness, instead of the arcane, and became nomadic wanderers. Throughout time many different elven tribes were formed.

age: Although elves reach physical maturity at about the same age as Humans, the elven understanding of Adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. An elf typically claims adulthood⁠ and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 750 years old.

Darkvision. Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions⁠. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkn⁠ess as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkne⁠ss⁠, only Shades of Gray. Keen Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
  Keen Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.   Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on Saving Throws against being Charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.   Trance. Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting⁠ in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
