Fire Genasi

Basic Information

Anatomy

Nearly all are hot as if burning inside. The more human-looking have fiery red hair that writhes under extreme emotion. Their voices might sound like crackling flames, and their eyes flame when angered. Occasionally, they have the faint scent of brimstone.

Genetics and Reproduction

Descended from the efreet.  Usually born from the union between an efreet and a humanoid, from two fire genasi or humanoid parents with an efreet somewhere in their ancestry. Currently not common for efreet to procreate with humanoids.

Behaviour

Inherited the volatile mood and keen mind of the efreet. They tend towards impatience and making snap judgements, or being quick to act. They are generally energetic and care a great deal about their appearance and tend to dress flamboyantly. Considered one of the more charismatic genasi.

Civilization and Culture

History

The Efreeti are known to be cruel and self-serving. They assumed grand titles and power over others, and were unlikely to procreate unless it benefited them. However, wizards had captured some efreeti to find out their source of power doing experiments on them. During this capture, fire genasi were created. The journals stated they forced an efreeti to planeshift and the wizards who work on them were plane shifted into the elemental plane - thus creating fire genasi and starting the humanoid lineage in their ancestry.

Fire Resistance. You have resistance to fire damage.
Reach to the Blaze. You know the produce flame cantrip. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the burning hands spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the flame blade spell with this trait, without a material component. Once you cast burning hands or flame blade with this trait, you can't cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
