Descended from Marid.
Usually born of two humanoid parents with the Madrid in their ancestry.
Growth Rate & Stages
Many water genasi are abandoned by their humanoid parents and raised by merfolk, aboleths, aquatic elves, dolphins etc. When they reach maturity they will leave their parents to develop their own personality and place in the world.
Ecology and Habitats
Strong ties to great bodies of water, and see themselves as possessing the deep elemental strength of oceans and rivers.
Behaviour
Known for their independence and wander many may see them as arrogant or selfish. Water genasi have been known to look down on humans living in the sea, and to not get along with other races. They rarely wish to connect with water genasi as it makes them less special and unique.
They are patient and strongly independent. They tend to take their time-solving problems, and are not afraid to stand up for themselves. Their expression is generally tranquil no matter what emotions are brewing underneath their quiet surface, almost like the start of a Tsunami. They generally hate to be tied down and remain untamed as the waters of the water. Can be proud, and fearless which is less common among genasi race. While they may have difficulty with others their patience, ambition and independence makes them strive for better things and eventually become a great member of a team.
Civilization and Culture
History
There is little known of the Marid as they were proud and independent, and considered everyone beneath them. However, the curiosity of the material plane was known by all genie kinds and so they chose to be seen by humanoids. The ancient journals state that marids enjoyed flattery and when a human addressed them they were expected to show honor. Some Marid would capture humanoids to create their own homes. They could be cruel and had a chaotic nature, which was noted by those who met them. During the time that the marid entered the material plane and the humanoid parents did not know how much water a water genasi needed to survive, so sent the children off into the seas. Some expecting the marid to find and raise them.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Water genasi tend to have blue or green skin and most have somewhat overlarge
eyes, blue-black in color. A water genasi’s hair might float freely, swaying and waving as if underwater.
