Emperor Elias Wistendayl

The last king of Marcelheim and first emperor of the Eliasan Empire for whom the Empire is named was a just and noble king, considered very forward thinking he drove a major industrial revolution within his kingdom with magic and technology evolving at a substantial pace. Under his guidance the kingdom expanded to become the dominant presence on the island of Burdale but then very suddenly there was a shift in his demeanor. For reasons the historical record have not revealed Elias pivoted the kingdom towards war, pushing the technological and magical industries into the form of a military industrial complex rapidly building up the army and navy far beyond the defensive levels they'd been maintained at under previous generations.
He declared war first on the entire continent of Reedan, announcing to his citizenry that the four kingdoms that reside upon it must be brought under his control for the good of the world. The Era of Conquest had begun and would continue beyond Elias' lifetime, his brother Olivar completing the task Elias had begun and bringing the 10 kingdoms of the modern empire under Marcelheim's control.
