The Forgotten Lands

The Forgotten Lands is a region of land on the western side of the Reach Mountains and south of Frifenn Kai on the continent of Aar'karr. The Forgotten Lands is a area shrouded in secrets and myth. Soon after one eneters the region the landscape quickly turns from a common healthy ecosystem to a desolate, dry, and hostile one in a matter of a few feet. The air is brown and hazy reducing visibility greatly. The ground is hard, dry, and gray with little to no plant life being able to grow there. The plants that do grow there are black or gray and often look unnaturally sharp or jagged. Some adventurers have reported thinking they thought the plants would move closer to them, but these are unconfirmed reports. Other adventurers have reported seeing beings of some kind moving just outside their field of view or just far enough away that the poluted air keeps their true form hidden. The reports do seem to have a common through-line as the begins thought to have been seen seem to all have a similar shape, that of a humanoid beast like being with orange eyes, but these reports are still uncomfirmed. Those adventurers who have ventured the furthest into The Forgotten Lands and returned report several large, now ruined, cities. It is speculated by some that these several cities are actually one large sigular city as different adventuring parties, taking different routes, and periodically getting lost withing the The Forgotten Lands have reported a similar general area and description of the "cities." The city or "cities" are described as having several sizable towns surrounding a now dried up river that ran around the city proper. From the towns were bridges that connected to the city walls. Many of these bridges are now in ruins and un useable. Adventurers have reported the once to the walls of the city they would begin to hear strange noises as they looked for entrance into the city. After a time the noises would cease for an hour or so afterewards a powerful dust storm would roll over the city forcing the adventurers away from the city. It is unknown what is causing the noises or the storm to occure but it has been reported by several different adventuring parties.
