Observatory of Valstrum
The Valstrum Observatory is a marvel of the island of the same namesake. A large telescope sits at the top floor pointed directly at the Astral Sea beyond the world of Usela. The observatory is used to monitor threats from the stars since the Great Hunger came from crashing meteors from the Astral Sea. The observatory is overseen by many scholars including the elderly grey orc named Set, Lord Kaydwen's daughter Ileana, and her warforged servant Maelstrom or Mael.
Purpose / Function
Valstrum Observatory is the first alert system in place in Novarre to alert the kingdom of any more dangers coming from the Astral plane.
History
The birth of the observatory actually started before the ending of the Hunger, but wasn't finished until 12 DC.
