Commander

Leader of the Death Guard

The highest rank within the Death Guard. The commander has absolute authority over all actions the Death Guard takes. All members of the guard will follow any order from the commander without question.  

Responsibilites

The commander has many responsibilites.  
  • Recruitement. The commander always has the last word on any new recruit whether they may join the guard or not.
  • Promotions. All promotions are awarded by the commander.
  • Remembrance. The commander leads the burial of all guards killed in action.
  • Strategy. The overall strategic decisions for the future development of the Death Guard.
  • Execution. Any guard who betrays the Death Guard or breaks a rule is executed by the commander.
  • Missions. The commander can veto any missions the Death Guard is offered and can accept any mission they wish to accept.
  • Representation. When dealing with other factions the commander usually represents the interests of the Death Guard.
 

Subordinates

The commander has several direct subordinates which execute the orders of the commander.  
  • Captains. They lead a unit or squad of death guards and are usually the highest rank on team missions.
  • Public Relations Officer. Responsible to formulate a public relations strategy and represent the Death Guard in front of the media. This position is very new.
  • Weapons Master. A special role responsible for logistics. They ensure that the equipement of all teams is always maintained and complete.
  • Mission Agents. These agents represent the Death Guard in front of clients. They vet the clients and each mission and assign them to a captain.
 

Missions

Although the commander does not need to run their own missions the holder of the title can of course run any mission if they wish to. This only happens if the mission is very important for the guard or the client has a personal relationship with the commander.

I love that the Commander is the one who must carry out executions if necessary. Can't delegate something like that without it feeling hands-off.
