Vampire Venom

The venom of vampires is injected with their bite. The substance is highly addictive . It creates a euphoric feeling, suppresses pain and increases natural regeneration. These effects help make victims of a vampire bite wanting for more. Withdrawal symptoms are a feeling of dread and depression.
Additionally, addicts have an odour about themselves, which can be perceived by vampires. In this way victims of a vampire bite are marked to tell other vampires too keep away. A single vampire bite rarly leads to an addiction directly, but it will inject enough to have quite the effect. The effects on other supernatural beings varies widely. For some it is similar as humans while many others are much more resistant to the effects.
In some rare cases the Blessing of the Huntress gives a hunter the ability to smell the vampire venom odour.

Regulations

The Hunter's Guild is the primary organization fighting the distribution of the venom. The guild hunts and kills any vampires who sell their venom. Human distributors usually only lose their stockpile but are not further penalized.
Since the fall of the Veil vampire venom has quickly been criminalized by most countries across the globe. This has lead to many arrests of human distributors, as they were not on the radar of law enforcement at all.

Tradet & Market

Vampire venom can only be purchased on the black market. Like with any other drug there is a fairly large market for it. Due to the nature of the drug, it is usually vampire factions which control these markets all over the world. It is one of the main sources of income for many of them. Since the fall of the Veil, many had to adapt and switch to new sources of income. Since now human law enforcement could track the distribution of the venom as well.

Storage & Refinement

Naturally, the venom is a liquid which is usually stored in glass or plastic bottles and containers. These containers must be handled carefully as the venom can affect some just by skin contact. There exists a process to transform the venom into a paste. This paste can be applied to the skin and is much easier to store.
