A Better(?) World

Before the 1960s, superpowered beings were few and far between. The greatest of these was Captain Valiant, a man who lead the heroic Freedom Guard across the 60s and 70s, and into the new age of supers after the Iron Baron released his meta-bomb, creating millions of new supers and implanting in people the genetic possibility of birthing natural supers.   In 1975, Captain Valiant died, and with him the Golden Age. The Freedom Guard soon disbanded, and few felt the call to action until the present day, when a new Captain Valiant was chosen, and brought together the Sentinels, Earth’s new line of defense.   The Sentinels are not the only heroes in town, however. Highland Academy and others like it teach young supers to harness their powers for good. And even more are out there, waiting for the call to duty.
