Water Genasi

Genasi are descended from elemental-related creatures, such as efreet, dao, djinn, jann, and marids, among others. Most of them have had no direct contact with their elemental forebears, but the signs of their heritage are apparent. Genasi take great pride in their distinctive features and abilities. Water genasi are patient and slow to change, preferring to wear away opposition slowly, but are capable of great violence in extreme situations. They are most often neutral. All have one or more traits that reflect their quasi-elemental nature, such as lightly scaled skin, clammy flesh, blue-green skin or hair, or hair that waves as if underwater. They dress sparsely, preferring clothing that won't bind when in the water and ripples like waves when dry.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Most water genasi look as if they just finished bathing, with beads of moisture collecting on their skin and hair. They smell of fresh rain and clean water. Blue or green skin is common, and most have somewhat overlarge eyes, blue-black in color. A water genasi’s hair might float freely, swaying and waving as if underwater. Some have voices with undertones reminiscent of whale song or trickling streams.

Growth Rate & Stages

Genasi mature at about the same rate as humans and reach adulthood in their late teens.

Average Technological Level

With their prevalence across the entire planet, the genasi as a species had access to the most advanced technology pre-discovery. And due to their presence in the island nations, they were involved in the research and development that centered around the anchor stones.
