Auril, the Frostmaiden

Auril the Frostmaiden is the merciless goddess of cold and winter and thus mostly worshiped in areas affected by cold winters. She is known to be fickle and evil and is worshipped mainly by fear. In Phlan it is common to appease Auril with offerings and prayers for mercy. Her priests warn others to prepare for winter, and to stock extra provisions in order to have some to spare as offerings to the goddess.
Few are devoted solely to Auril except for those who make their livelihood from winter or those who truly love the season.
