Chapter 8
"NO, Killing is ALWAYS bad!"
General Summary
While the others went down to the planet, many of the new crew that aren't technically inclined were left with nothing to do. Given that there were Force-Sensitives from multiple temples, a spirited debate about principles and philosophies ensued. It did not take long for this empathic group to notice that Azenn Draa was in the grips of a serious melancholic humor.
When he explained his problem, he started getting multiple conflicting forms of advice. Eventually this led to a long and polarizing debate about killing in combat. Nammee Vei, Kaados Muse, Wrren and Wrratcheun argued the loudest and longest, becoming the four distinct polarizing voices about whether Azenn should feel so conflicted about killing those Clone Troopers when he was freeing the Wookiees.
They went back and forth for hours with Nammee holding that any killing of sentient beings is absolutely wrong. Nammee eventually convinces Azenn and Kaados to become non-lethal if they are forced to fight, but cannot convince the Wookiees to do the same and instead they agree to kill only if their lives are in danger and their freedom is threatened. But just because the debate went quiet doesn't mean that the topic was done...
When Kirana Whitesun returned, it was to a mass exodus of disheartened Clone Troopers and Naval Crew. No one gave any warning or told her why until the last shuttles returned - the crew and soldiers felt condemned by their acts of violence in the Wars, and felt the ship was haunted by their ghosts. Commander Whitesun, shaking her head, went to the Bridge and scheduled a skeleton crew rotation from everyone left. When even the padawans were mustered into the crew, Kirana stopped all complaints with a durasteel-eyed stare.
The ship's remaining crew then began procedures to get underway, while Kirana and a crack team of boot-shakers investigated the "ghosts". What they found was a malfunctioning commando droid scavenging in the ducts. The Droid introduced itself to the commander and challenged her to a duel. When Kirana won but refused to kill the creature calling itself S-1R, The Gentleman Droid, pledged its service to the commander and her cause.
