House Placement Tool

An item with infinite uses! Really, one use. It allows you to spend currency, automatically withdrawn from all sources available to the Contestant, in order to purchase a house. The Tool gives a ghosted image that only the purchaser can see in front of them, so they can place the house exactly where they want it.
It must be on 'flat enough' land. Different game mechanics over the game's age have changed how this works exactly, as well as the player's level (whether player, event moderator, game moderator, or developer).
The ghosted image is available all the time, to whoever uses the tool. It cannot be validated if the Contestant doesn't have enough currency for it. But they can see it!
There are a huge number of prefabricated houses available this way. Houses that can be customized range from 7x7 tiles to 18x18 tiles. Each tile is the width of a door, so 3.5 feet (maybe it shouldn't be due to the game's suggested era but I, Viirin, am a power wheelchair user, so it's wide enough for modern day assistive devices even if that isn't historically accurate).
With custom houses, it's just the house plot. There are stairs in front (one side only) included for free, which can be removed in whole or in part. Each 3.5 foot space must be paid for with the equivalence of 500 Gold from Ultima Online. Every piece of wall, door, floor tile, or anything else costs the same.
There are other mechanics in 'real' universes or other realities (like Neopets, Subnautica, Planet Crafter, or Minecraft) that would let you build walls and things without the cost and with tile types not available.
The materials available are wood (light brown to brown to dark red), stucco, stone brick (gray or white), stone, sandstone, bamboo, stained glass, and wrought iron. The eras and styles available are Medieval to Victorian to Pueblo. Grass, white sand, and water for floor tiles is also available.
The House Placement Tool also stores a single blueprint until confirmed. A Contestant can customize their house (if a custom plot) as they wish, with no cost, as ghosted images that they can walk through, even up to the house's maximum height of three stories, even if there is no house, so they can place the floors, walls, half-walls, quarter-walls, stained-glass windows, linked telepads, and doors. Regardless of what the material is going to be, the confirmation price is still 500 gold per piece.
Personally, I think it's so you can see how much your dream house will cost in-game.
