Sburb Tools, Kernelsprite

The kernelsprite is a flat disc-shaped object that flies around erratically, flashing between black-on-white and white-on-black. It looks like a circle with an intricate pattern of overlapping stars within it.   Only one ever spawns for a Sburb player, only during a Session, and only after pressing the button on a Cruxtruder. The kernelsprite can be upgraded twice, but doesn't count as anything initially; only a blueprint for something that will both help and hurt later.   In order to upgrade a kernelsprite into a sprite, it needs something to dictate its form. Stuffed animals, corpses, a photograph of a person, a drawn image of a monster, or anything else resembling life counts.   The kernelsprite, as it is not yet a character, cannot make decisions and so it cannot upgrade itself. The player who it spawned for, however, can make its form-item touch it, upgrading it once and giving it its base form.   Beware! Anything a kernelsprite is upgraded with is an upgrade equally granted to the imps who will soon attack. Beware! If a creature incapable of communication is used to upgrade the kernelsprite, then it cannot communicate any of the vast knowledge it possesses to the player, helping no one.   Except the imps.
