Bio: A member of the Order of the Butterfly, Sophia was born in the small village of Romara on the Weatherstone coast. She always dreamed of travelling, but it wasn't until she had nearly come of age that she first left the borders of her native realm. After some years of moving from place to place, taking lovers without commitment, it was in the badlands to the east of Affray that Sophia first came across the human mercenary known as Darius Steward. Nursing him back to health after an arrow wound to the shoulder, the two soon fell for each other and became betrothed, despite the disapproval of Darius' family, who wanted him to wed a human woman of pure Vesperian lineage. Not to be dissuaded, Sophia and Darius married in a private ceremony, spending the summer together in a small hut by a lake. The next spring, Sophia was heavily pregnant, but as was all too common in that world, her childbirth wasn't straightforward and while her son Alfonso was born alive and healthy, the lysofar mother succumbed soon afterwards. It would be another four years and then some before Darius truly came to terms with this.
